Every Time I Judge Someone Else, I Reveal an Unhealed Part of Myself

I don’t know about you but I used to have so much trouble with judging others.

I thought it was because I loved them and wanted the best for them.

I could see how they could’ve done something differently.

Somehow better.

Or in a way that could be more beneficial for them.

But when we judge others, we reveal a part of OURSELVES that is yet UNHEALED.

Let me explain…

If you judge someone in your house for not cleaning up after themselves, there may be a part of YOURSELF that feels shame for being “messy” or “lazy” and so you do your best to clean to perfect standards so as to avoid ever feeling less than.

If you judge someone thinking their “work” could have been done better, you might still need to heal YOUR OWN NEED to be validated by YOUR WORK in the world and have forgotten that YOUR VALUE NEVER is proven by the things you DO but rather WHO YOU ARE (And by Whose you are )

If you judge someone else for how they choose to spend their money, there may be a part of you that has a scarcity mindset and FEAR OF LACK IN YOUR OWN LIFE.

If find yourself judging someone’s spiritual practices (OR THE POSSIBLE LACK THEREOF) it’s quite possible that you are revealing YOUR OWN “works mentality” that still needs healing as we can never do enough to earn right standing with God but it is rather a FREE GIFT OF SALVATION so that no man can boast in himself.

I have HEALED from these types of judgment and SO MANY OTHERS that try to tempt me on a daily basis and YOU CAN, TOO!

Even when we find ourselves saying how “judging” someone else is…THAT’S US JUDGING, too!

I’ve learned that we can LOVE, or we can JUDGE but we CANNOT DO BOTH.

LOVE looks like, BELIEVING the BEST of others, even when it doesn’t make sense.

Believing that EVERYONE is DOING THEIR BEST or that they DID THEIR BEST WITH WHAT THEY KNEW AT THE TIME.

And this FEELS SO GOOD because WE ARE THE ONES WHO GET TO FEEL THIS IN OUR BODIES!!!

Over the past few years, I have learned that there are THREE KINDS OF BUSINESS…

MY BUSINESS.

THEIR BUSINESS.

AND GOD’S BUSINESS.

The only business that I have ANY CONTROL OVER IS MINE!

Phew! I no longer have to spend one minute of mental or emotional energy on OTHER PEOPLE’S BUSINESS!

This FREES ME UP to spend MORE TIME on MY OWN BUSINESS!

I think sometimes our brains have us HYPER-FOCUS on OTHER PEOPLE so we don’t have to FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE EMOTIONS concerning OURSELVES.

But I want you to know that THIS RIGHT HERE is the SWEET SPOT of life!

It may not seem like it at first, but becoming so resilient that you are able to experience ANY EMOTION (even the uncomfortable ones) is where TRUE GROWTH HAPPENS!!!

AND YOU NO LONGER REQUIRE EVERYONE ELSE TO CHANGE TO CREATE MORE COMFORT FOR YOU!
