Letting go of old thought patterns, pain, and fear can seem more uncomfortable than keeping them close. We get better at it when we welcome the discomfort and choose to believe there’s a better way.
To the natural mind it seems like letting go of unforgiveness is not taking care of yourself, but it’s really allowing that wound to heal.
The prison door is always open for us, but we must choose to walk through!
When things have been one way for so long, the familiarity can cause a strange sense of false comfort.
You get used to being in a constant state of fight-or-flight or survival mode.
But we cannot heal without letting go of unforgiveness and bitterness.
It’s truly drinking a poison yet expecting the other person to suffer.
Forgiveness is never easy but we do it by faith, not feeling.
It feels good for the flesh to stay bitter.
We feel justified and tell ourselves that is how we stay safe.
But that lie only imprisons us.
We don’t have to have our own back when God is big enough to care for every part of us.
The parts hidden deep that we don’t share with anyone.
He already knows and has made provision for it.
Let Him carry it for you so you can just rest in His vast LOVE. Are you experiencing pain in a relationship?
