You’ve probably heard it said that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it. And how we respond is usually how our brains have been wired to respond. One of the most important things my life coach taught me was that our THOUGHTS will ALWAYS create our RESULTS. Not anybody else’s results, but OUR results.
Wait? What? Yep! Because our thoughts = our feelings and our feelings = our actions and our actions = our results! So, how we are currently experiencing our life is a direct result of our thoughts about our life.
There’s a SPACE between what the circumstance is and how we choose to respond to it. It’s ultimately in that space where FREEDOM is held. Many people ask me what exactly is a life coach. What do you do for people? And the simplest answer is, I hold space for them.
A safe space, where I listen, so they can find that thought that is causing the pain, or the disconnect, or the inability to follow through with their goals. That one thought that is looping in their brain because they are human and their brain is so used to that thought that it thinks it is on auto-pilot to save energy. But it’s a thought that is ultimately not serving them. It’s creating for them, but not the life of PEACE and JOY and FULFILLMENT that they dream of. And when we discover the thought and process through the emotions that come with it, I help them choose a higher thought that lines up with God’s Word, because His thoughts over us are always HIGHER! His dreams over us are always BIGGER! And when we begin to think new thoughts we will eventually get new results!
