Wouldn’t it Be Great if Everyone Just Did What We Expected Them To Do?

There are many opportunities to be upset by people in our lives.

From the person who cut you off in traffic, to the one who dings your car with their door and didn’t say sorry, to the boss that got brilliant results with your idea and never gave you credit for it.

These things are annoying, yes, but they don’t carry the sting to same degree as when you are disappointed by the actions (or inactions) of those who are the closest to you, those whom you love.

The truth is that we all have these unspoken “manuals” for everyone in our lives.

You know, just like the manual in the glovebox of our car, it has detailed descriptions for every facet of our vehicle, it’s the “operating manual” that tells us exactly what we can EXPECT.

And whether we know it or not, we also have one for those we love.

We expect our husband and our children to behave a certain way.

In fact, as long as they do, everything in life seems to be going swimmingly.

It’s only when they veer off of “our plan” that it begins to affect us negatively.

All of a sudden we seem to “lose our peace”.

But TRUE PEACE is a fruit of the Spirit, and not controlled by people or circumstances.

In fact, that’s just what the enemy and your brain would like you to believe.

But that gives people and situations so much POWER in our lives.

Power that never even belonged to them, yet we unknowingly DELEGATED out to them.
