What if we could savor the magic of motherhood, even when our children are grown?
I don’t mean “magical” in a mystical way, (some people of faith get weirded out by that word) but I mean the INEXPRESSIBLE JOY that it is TO LOVE and BE LOVED by a child.
I started a journal for each of my children from the day I found out they were growing inside of me.
When I look back over them I see the WONDER of motherhood was already residing in me and the vastness of it yet to be discovered.
I already had everything I needed.
And YOU do, too!
A MAGICAL MOTHERHOOD MINDSET takes intentionality and investment.
It takes pouring into YOURSELF first.
Renewing your mind with scripture and good books and beautiful inspiring art and music.
YOU are the one who is CURATING YOUR OWN LIFE!
It’s ALWAYS been YOU!

Creating joy doesn’t mean that hard things or days stop happening, as my hubby once told me in reference to caring for our children, “Not every day needs to be a Norman Rockwell moment.”
I learned how to make some days magical for me and my kids and also to recognize the gift and absolute privilege of the simple, ordinary days I got to live with them(and still do now that they are grown adults) each and every day.
That the “magic” was not something I created on the outside but something that came from deep inside of me and welled up to pour on the outside.
I had to learn how to prime the pump!
By caring for myself and my mind, heart, and emotions.
So that even in the challenging times I had an inner resource I could choose to draw from.
And it’s definitely a choice.
Whether you have babies, teens, or grown children you will always be their mother and you can create the most joyful experience of BEING their mother that YOU want!
No matter how they are behaving!
It’s never been dependent upon anyone else.
It’s truly all up to YOU! Which is great news because she’s the ONLY ONE you have control over.
