Did you know that your spouse has HIS marriage you have YOUR marriage?
Wow 🤯
Years ago I realized that I was having a completely different marriage from Chad because he’s not in my brain!
And he can never fully be!
He has his own thoughts about his experience of our marriage.
If you’re not yet married you may say you want to have a spouse, but how do you know until you have one?
When you say you want to have a partner it’s because you have specific ideas and expectations about having a partner.
He’s supposed to fulfill the requirements you have; to love you, to comfort you, to accept you, maybe to be a certain height or age, look a certain way, to provide a certain experience for you, right?
So then you find a partner and your DREAM HUSBAND meets your REAL HUSBAND and that’s where the problems begin because now you have TWO HUSBANDS!
And your REAL husband can never live up to your DREAM husband.
It just isn’t possible.
Many say, “He isn’t the man I thought he was”…EXACTLY!
He turns out to be the man he was!
And then it’s too late, lol. 😀
No one ever truly knows who they are marrying.
It’s who we BELIEVE them to be; that’s as good as a marriage can ever get!
Marriage is a journey of FAITH.
Faith is simply a BELIEF.
Hearing from God first and following the leading of the Spirit concerning the one you choose to join the rest of your life to.
Then learning to do the work on YOURSELF of what it truly means to LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY.
Loving the person they TRULY are and being that one person, aside from God, who SEES the best, BELIEVES the best, and DELIGHTS in who they ALREADY ARE and ALL THEY CAN BE!
A wise woman once told me that wives are called to be the CEO of their husband’s life; that’s the CHIEF ENCOURAGEMENT OFFICER, because how we choose to encourage their hearts can be a catalyst for them to keep dreaming with God and believing in themselves.
When we stop delighting in our spouse, we will be on a downward slope.
Just like we can momentarily slide into our “false self” where our ego dominates us and we begin to live in fear and a scarcity mindset in other areas of our lives, we will do the same in our marriage if we don’t continue to RENEW our minds with thoughts of our spouse of ALL THE WAYS we DELIGHT over them!
So, when I say marriage is WORK, this is the ONLY WORK I am speaking of. The WORK of LOVE! The WORK of renewing our OWN MIND, and crucifying our OWN FLESH.
But when you find another human being who is worthy of THAT WORK, hold fast to them with ALL YOUR MIGHT! ❤ ❤ ❤
