Some people so enjoy drama that if they aren’t experiencing enough of their own, they tend to feed off of others. When you find yourself in a situation where others are relaying drama they’ve seen to you, you can choose to close your ears and mouth to it. Gossip cannot spread if it’s known to stop with you. If you don’t have the ability to be a part of the solution, then it has no business in your mouth.
Our job is to believe the best of others, always, and when presented with negative chatter, praying the word over them is the best way to be a blessing. Be careful who you spend time with. Because if people have no problem talking about others with you, they are probably talking about you with others.
My coach always reminds us that there are three types of business; yours, theirs, and God’s. When you step out of YOUR business is when you find yourself in the wrong place. When we’ve been in the habit for a bit of putting more energy into others’ business, it will be uncomfortable to back up at first. But it’s so worth it.
The Bible says, “believes all things [looking for the BEST in each one]. (1 Cor. 13:7 AMP). When we shift into believing the best, even believing the best of the one who is trying to pull us into their habit of gossip, we are the ones who get to feel the feeling of hope and love for them. ~Be Blessed, Jenny
