How prepared are YOU for battle?
Let’s be honest, there WILL BE battles.
This is not a negative mindset.
Jesus said there WILL BE tests, trials, and tribulations IN THIS LIFE.
But also, that HE has OVERCOME THEM ALL.
What do we see in the Word that Jesus did in practical terms?
We read over and over again that He WENT AWAY.
What does that mean?
Did He turn off His phone and go on a vacay?
Not exactly.
But the Word says, “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.” (Mark 1:35)
So, He was getting FULL BEFORE the day’s battle came.
Also, it says, “After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.” (Matt. 14:23)
What was He doing? He was communing with God. Receiving strength, direction, and wisdom for the task at hand.
If a soldier never checks in with headquarters, how will he know the battle plans?
We also see that even at the very beginning of Jesus’ earthly ministry, He was led by Holy Spirit to go into the wilderness, where He was fasting for forty days and nights, and being tempted by the devil.
This was His first battle. How did He overcome it?
HE SPOKE THE WORD! HE ANSWERED EVERY TEMPTATION WITH, “IT IS WRITTEN.”
He had many years of studying the scriptures and keeping His heart right to now MOVE INTO what He was BORN FOR!
YOU, too, have something YOU were BORN FOR!
And the devil ain’t gonna just let you slide right into your destiny without a fight.
This is why it is imperative to KNOW THE WORD of GOD!
All of the other armor God has given us is to DEFEND us, but the Word, the Sword of the Spirit, is the ONE WEAPON we have.
When we don’t know the Word, what it says about WHO GOD IS and WHO HE’S MADE US TO BE, we will cower in the corner, defeated.
But when we KNOW THAT WE KNOW what BELONGS to us, we will open our mouths WIDE and BOLDLY DECLARE WITH CONFIDENCE and the devil will HAVE TO FLEE! Amen?! Get in the Word of God today, even just one verse to meditate on all day long, and build your faith muscles! ~Be Blessed, Jenny xoxo
