Words = Power!

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21 The words that we speak matter more than we know. God created everything with words and we have the ability to create what we have in our lives by the words we speak. So many times we are up against something that tries to not only occupy all of our thought life, but also occupy our tongues. We must become skillful at speaking with our mouths the things we want to see. Things that are in line with God’s promises.

In Mark 5 we see many examples of words spoken that had the power to change the course of many lives. Jairus, speaking of his dying daughter SAID to Jesus, “Come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed and she WILL LIVE.” The woman with the issue of blood interrupted Jesus as He was walking to Jairus’ house because she had heard something about Jesus and she came up behind Him to touch His garment, “For she kept SAYING, If I only touch His garments, I SHALL BE restored to health.” The men who came from Jairus’ house met him to tell him, “Your daughter has died. Why bother and distress the Teacher any further?” Those were some powerfully defeating words but it says, “Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus SAID to the ruler of the synagogue, ‘Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing’.” When Jesus arrived at Jairus’ house He SAID to them, “Why do you make an uproar and weep? The little girl is not dead but is sleeping.” When He took her firmly by the hand He SAID to her, Talitha cumi- which translated is, Little girl, I SAY to you, arise [from the sleep of death]!” Jesus spoke life to a dead situation! We can, too! Words are the most powerful thing in the universe! Able to change the course of our lives! Let’s choose to speak words that give LIFE to our situation and watch the power of God MOVE! ~Be Blessed, Jenny
