Happy New Year! 2019 Can Be Your Best Year Yet!

step out

Isaiah 43:18,19 “Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new. Now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.” This verse has been coming to me from many different directions for the past month. When that happens, I try to let the Lord know that I acknowledge it and make note of it and meditate on it until I get a better understanding of what He’s trying to get across to me. Change is something that is challenging on our flesh, but God is always ready to do something new! He’s always on the cutting edge because He knows exactly what’s ahead and desires to bring us into the fullness of His plan. In order to move forward with Him, He’s encouraging us to let go of the things of the past, good and bad. This verse paints a picture He wants us to see by faith, that He will do three things: That He can make a way where there previously was not one, that He can do things that seem impossible and unexplainable, such as making a river in a desert, and that the timing of it will spring forth, meaning one minute it won’t be there and the next it will be right there where you need it to be. If I could encourage you with one thing this New Year, it would be to keep being led by the Spirit. All relationships take time and our relationship with the Holy Spirit is no exception. Put the time in that it takes to deepen your relationship with Him and sensitivity to His voice. It will keep you from lagging behind or moving out ahead of His timing, but rather, keeping perfect pace with Him. That’s the flow you want to be in for this New Year and I declare it will be your BEST year yet!
