The Sacred Work of Motherhood

(artwork by Loré Pemberton)

This painting has always made me think of myself with my firstborn son and brings me right back to those sweet emotions.

I can recall the busyness, the tiredness, the responsibility of those days but also the incredible sense of love and purpose.

That I had truly stepped into something I was born for, motherhood.

When I look back I can see the wonder of mothering that already resided in me.

It’s work, but I believe it’s meant to be a joyous work.

The Word says, “He makes the barren woman abide in the house as a JOYFUL mother of children. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 113:9

And not only is what we do joyous, but it is truly a SACRED WORK.

As mothers and fathers, we are the chief representation of Jesus in their lives until they are grown.

We get the blessing of expressing to them every single day how LOVED and VALUED they are!

Witnessing children’s natural sense of wonder and exploration is truly a God-given privilege.

If you are surrounded by little ones and would love encouragement in your high calling of mothering, I’d love to pour into you with support and help you to learn the skill of emotional regulation so your littles can feel supported in their own regulation.

If you have older or grown children and you want to create MORE CONNECTION and CLOSENESS so you can continue to build a LEGACY of LOVE that your children and grandchildren can LIVE IN, please reach out! ~Be Blessed, Jenny xoxo
