This might be a “sacred cow” I’m kicking, but there are so many parents riddled with PAIN based upon the decisions of their adult children and I want to give them the opportunity to be SET FREE!
No matter what we’ve done as a parent, we are never ENTITLED to our children behaving a certain way.
They must be free to have their own journey, make their own mistakes, and have their own relationship with God and His REDEEMING POWER!
As we endeavor to “train” we are like a trainer in the gym who GOES FIRST, who is an example of what is possible, but their results are up to them.
When we think we are entitled to RESPECT or HONOR or our children doing whatever WE THINK they should be doing with THEIR lives, it will only cause US pain and sorrow when they don’t live up to our expectations.
God is not in pain when we miss the mark He has set before us, He simply keeps LOVING us and gives us chance after chance after chance and the grace to KEEP GOING!
He cheers the loudest from the sidelines and NEVER GIVES UP on us! He sees the beginning from the end and holds the belief that ALL WILL BE WELL!
