What are you making your kids behavior mean about YOU?

It’s so easy to make “motherhood” an idol in our lives. We, Mamas, tend to think that our job is to produce perfect Christian children and we judge ourselves based on how “Christian” our kids turned out. But we do not get to control our kids’ outcomes, whether they are 8 or 28. The enemy would love for us to accept shame. But God never intended for us to feel pride when our kids do right nor shame when they miss the mark. They must be free to make their own choices and their own mistakes, just like we did and those experiences made us who we are today. The challenges I faced as a young person pushed me closer to God. We get upset when our kids are not handling their negative emotions well when half the time we are not even handling ours well. The bottom line is our children are not responsible for our emotional life. We must stop trying to find our value in where our kids go to college or what they are currently doing in their life or how they are behaving.

If you find yourself in a crisis today or you are just ready to kick mom-guilt to the curb, I’d love to come alongside you to help you manage stress, gain emotional resilience, and increase your JOY in mothering your greatest treasures!
