Your Purpose Will Carry You

When you get a revelation of what your purpose is, it will carry you through decades as you apply it to everything you do and every changing season. You can feel just as full of purpose in years of serving in the home, raising children, or in a career. Your purpose of serving never changes but how you apply it may change. It will keep you grounded and focused on what makes you most passionate and compassionate in any given season and allow you to feel equally satisfied and full of joy! My purpose is to serve others through care, teaching, healing, ministering, and encouraging. I have done this with the youngest of children through childcare and with caring for the needs of the elderly in nursing homes. I have done it through homeschooling and staying at home to raise my most precious treasures and I’ve done it from behind a pulpit. I have done it through preparing countless meals for those I love and counseling and encouraging many who I have found along my path through the years. Revelation of our purpose is something we can pray and ask God for in our lives.

In Ephesians 1:17,18 the Holy Spirit revealed to Paul that we can pray “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. That the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling,” How awesome! We can ask and believe for revelation to be given and insight into all God has called us to in our lives. Nothing will bring us fulfillment more than walking in line with the purpose He has called each of us to. Some people are afraid to ask, thinking they may be asked by God to do something they won’t enjoy so they don’t ask. But nothing could be further from the truth! The wonderful facets of you have been God-given and built into your DNA for a designed purpose! I challenge you to pray this prayer over yourself every day and expect God to reveal to you the things that would bring you the greatest joy as you serve Him. ~Be Blessed, Jenny
