Did You Know You Can Take Holy Communion At Home?

The power of Holy Communion is not in where we receive it, but in remembering what Jesus’ sacrifice made available to us.

Jesus used what He had in front of Him to institute the Holy Communion, bread and wine, but you can use what you have available today, possibly juice and a cracker, or something else. (Luke 22:19–20, 1 Corinthians 11:24–25).

The point is that you and God know what it represents; the bread represents Jesus’ body broken for your healing and Jesus’ blood shed to cleanse your sins.

He lovingly instructed us that we are to remember Him whenever we do this, and that it shouldn’t become so ritualistic that we would ever take any of it as commonplace.

It’s a powerful way to keep our minds renewed to the truth that when we partake of the bread, we are declaring outwardly that HIS HEALTH and DIVINE LIFE now flows in OUR mortal bodies, and that when we partake of the cup, we are declaring that we are forgiven and in right-standing before God. We can come into His presence freely, and when we pray, He hears us! (Hebrews 4:16, 1 John 5:14)

And if your body is dealing with some symptoms, it’s so good to have something tangible to remind you that Jesus ALREADY took those exact symptoms on His own body on the cross so that YOU could be FREE of that bondage! ALL sickness is a form of bondage from the devil that tries to keep you from enjoying all God has called you to do.

Can you still do good things while enduring symptoms? Yes! But I’ve been sick and I’ve been healed and healed is much better!

Before we partake, let’s remember that it’s not a ritual to be observed but rather a blessing to be received.

Let’s pray together while we partake. Lord, Jesus, I take this time to remember all that you did for me at the cross. Thank You for allowing Your body to be broken so that my body can be made whole. As I eat this bread, I thank You for your healing power that is already at work in me because I am IN CHRIST, causing every part of my body to be restored and to function the way it was designed to function. No sickness can remain because the same power that raised YOU dwells in me now, and my body is quickened! By YOUR stripes I have been made healed! (Romans 8:11, 1 Peter 2:24) I receive Your resurrection LIFE, STRENGTH, and HEALTH. [now eat the bread] As I drink the cup, I thank You for Your precious blood which was shed for my sins. I am cleansed, forgiven, and FREE. I receive all the blessings that crown the head of the righteous. [drink the cup]
